Salary Guide: £45-55k DOE

Our Client: Is committed to decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors by unlocking the full potential of biomethane production in the UK. They plan to make an immediate impact by reducing transport, industry and agriculture CO2 emissions by 2023.

They create & procure biogas from anaerobic digestion facilities in the UK and upgrades it to biomethane. Their biomethane is transported from the anaerobic digestion facility to its point of use, utilising biomethane-powered trucks. The low carbon biomethane will be directly used as an alternative fuel to power vehicles and also injected into the gas grid to create renewable heat.

The company has excellent prospects ahead and have plans to grow substantially in the coming years.

The Role: Our client is developing and building multiple multi-year Contracts and Projects in the UK. They are looking for skilled people to deliver on these fantastic opportunities in Anaerobic Digestion and CNG.

Duties: You will be delivering, supported by the Head of Engineering and Delivery, project tasks, designs and working with the internal team and process contractors/suppliers at various stages in the project life cycle, to deliver projects to specification, within agreed time frames and budget.

Reviewing technical specification (both from internal engineering team and external Client standards) to ensure they meet the project technical and commercial requirements

Managing the supply chain through the procurement, engineering, implementation, commissioning and handover phase

Ensuring review of supplier schedules against the contract programme, advising of any changes that will affect completion

Ensuring production of monthly progress reports from the supply chain, if necessary, facilitating and coordinating progress meetings

Experience: You will have worked within multi-disciplinary teams having co-ordinated and supported staff. You will be proactive and happy to take ownership of tasks and contribute to the growth of the business.

Understand anaerobic digestion, sludge treatment or water and wastewater treatment.

Understanding regulations and guidance for CNG, DSEAR regulations and Biogas/biomethane technologies.

Working knowledge of various conditions of contract

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification

Experience of supply chain expedition

CDM & Health & Safety knowledge

Experience in development of new and emerging technologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on working effectively in cross-functional teams at all levels of the company.

Self-motivated, with good organisational and time management skills.

Excellent IT skills. Additional knowledge of CAD would be beneficial.

Full UK driving licence, prepared for regular UK and occasional overseas travel

Adaptable, agile, and flexible in their approach to working.

Assistant Project Manager

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects supporting 6 major frameworks throughout the UK.

They are looking to strengthen their team with an Assistant Project Manager to deliver the design and build of clean water projects for Thames Water. You will work with and support the Project Manager and take lead of project governance, supply chain relationships, takeover and client facing outputs.

You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and the responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the project team in ensuring that all legal and industry standards impacted by the project are achieved.
  • With the PM ensuring that H&S management arrangements and people are in place for the duration of the project.
  • Administration of the Project Management Plan ensuring that Quality Assurance has been accommodated for in all parts.
  • Ensure that the Business Management System is deployed.
  • Ensure that all staff working on the project have enough training and experience for the role they are performing.
  • To have an understanding of all aspects of the client contract and the contracts cascaded to the project supply chain.
  • Supporting the PM & QS in supply chain notifications of potential EWN’s, CE’s, CI or change in scope.
  • Working with the PM & QS to ensure supply chain project costs do not exceed allowances.
  • Working with the LDE, PM & QS to manage internal design costs.
  • Ensure that project outputs are cascaded and communicated as appropriate to design and construction project team members.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Professional/management qualifications or transferable role specific experience.
  • Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
  • Good working knowledge of all relevant H&S legislation and in particular duty holder relationships of CDM.
  • H&S qualification SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Member of relevant professional body. (e.g. APM, CMI, ICE)
  • Working towards professional recognition with a chartered body.
  • Experience of the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.
