The Role:

Our client is a large engineering company who operate predominately in the water industry. They have been awarded a contract with South West Water to design, build and refurbish their water treatment plants.

They are recruiting for a CAD Engineer with Revit or AutoCAD Plant 3D, Who will be responsible for the design of new Installations from P&ID’s and layouts for a number of schemes across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Working from P&ID’s and layouts to design new installations.
  • Pipework detailing and drawings.
  • Structural steelwork GA’s
  • Co-ordinate & liaise with other internal and external mechanical, electrical, civil designers, sub-contractors & suppliers.
  • Attend internal design reviews.
  • Carry out site surveys
  • Assist with the design verification & validation processes.
  • Evaluation of potential hazards through design risk assessments.
  • Control of changes & effect during design & development process.
  • Control the flow of design documentation and filing using proprietary document control systems

Experience and Qualifications:

  • AutoCAD 3D Revit Experience is necessary. (AutoCAD Plant 3D.)
  • Experience in a process industry design role.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification – NVQ, HNC, HND, Graduate.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Position: Senior/Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Bristol or Plymouth

Salary: £50-55k (negotiable DOE), car/allowance and excellent benefits package

The Role: Reporting to the Regional Design Manager, you will be responsible for the production and coordination of outline and detailed Design Deliverables on combined Process, Mechanical and Electrical schemes, predominately in the water industry and providing an overall design package to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities: Ascertain Client requirements either through reference to their specification documents and through visiting sites with their nominated personnel

Ability to determine actual operational requirements and propose appropriate solutions

Work alongside the Design Manager/Senior Designer (team lead) and where applicable the Project Manager to ensure scheme designs are value engineered and adhere to client specifications whilst retaining appropriate levels of operational security and full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation

Promote innovation and challenge parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness in all design activities

Provide outline and detailed engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising design partners, individual knowledge, site installation and construction personnel

Ensure all design work is completed to agreed programmes, financial budgets and KPI’s

Liaison with client’s engineering staff or where applicable their design consultants to ensure designs are approved in accordance with the timescales stipulated within the contract

Attend internal and external design reviews and where applicable progress meetings

Lead and promote innovation, challenging clients, design partners and the supply chain to ensure cost effectiveness in both design solutions and design activities

Manage, mentor and develop the Design Engineers in conjunction with the Regional Design Manager

Experience: An industry applicable qualification ONC/HNC/degree or NVQ equivalent

Experience and understanding of water and sewage treatment processes would be beneficial but is not essential

The Role:

Our client is a large engineering company who operate predominately in the water industry. They have been awarded a large contract with Wessex Water for a new Sewerage Scheme. They are recruiting for a Site Engineer to help deliver a successful this project. As the site engineer you are responsible for setting out-line and level control for the site including adherence to the Q&A procedure set in place. Also, you will be responsible for communication of information to all trades over multiple disciplines.

You will ensure the construction of a new 4km trunk sewer constructed using both opencut and pipejacking, including river, canal and road crossings as well as the construction of 22no shafts. Construction of a 25m diameter pumping station and new permanent works compound and access, with associated rising mains and new outfall.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all civil engineering drawings, spotting potential areas either for error or for value to improve programme and cost
  • Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
  • Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
  • Reviewing and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or designer
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
  • Occasional day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
  • Implementing quality control and health and safety matters on site

They are recruiting for a Project Engineer who will be responsible for the individual management of schemes predominately for the clean water industry, with a particular focus on capital improvement projects such as new Water Treatment Plants and pumping stations.

Responsibilities:

  • Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel
  • The timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget
  • Liaise with client’s engineering and operations staff to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded within budget constraints
  • Attend internal and external review and progress meetings

They are recruiting for a Site Engineer to help deliver successful projects in the region. You will have overall responsibility for our team for site engineering and setting out, you will provide support to our operational team to ensure works are constructed within allowable tolerances. In addition, you will provide engineering support, ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.

You will ensure the workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out. Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding. Be aware of the provisions of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety are of paramount importance

Civil Site Agent/Site Manager – Water

Salary Guide: £50,000 – £55,000 Plus Package

Our client is a Principal Contractor operating within the water industry and they have been selected to deliver a large scheme for the design and build of a new water treatment plant near Bournemouth. This is an £80m+ scheme with a three year programme which utilises the latest water treatment technology and processes.

They currently have a requirement for a Civil Site Agent/Site Manager to work on this project and in this role you will manage the initial enabling works before seeing the project through to completion. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager of the you will ensure the successful completion of project whilst maintaining and improving client relationships, and adherence to the quality, safety and environmental policies of the business.

Key Tasks:

  • Resource allocation and management of Site staff;
  • Reporting to the senior Manager on Department budget control procedures for contracts and progress against programme;
  • Ensure safe systems of work and the Company Safety Policy are practiced;

Commissioning Engineer – Water

Position: Commissioning Engineer – Water

Rate Guide: £300.00 – £350.00 per day

Our client is recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer for the refurbishment and upgrade of a water treatment works for Wessex Water located south of Bristol.

Responsibilities:

  • To commission installed electrical works to the requirements of the contract specification and satisfaction of the client.
  • Execution of a commissioning plan in accordance with the contract specification and agree plan with the client’s representative.
  • Maintaining records and results in accordance with the commissioning plan.
  • Production of Test Data Sheets and Record Sheets.
  • Co-ordination of sub-contractors for commissioning.
  • Ensure safe working practices during the testing and commissioning period.
  • Production of commissioning programme and ensure commissioning is kept to programme.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Plan relating to commissioning activities.
  • Inform the Site Agent on commissioning progress regularly.
  • Report weekly on progress and resource requirements to the Technical Manager.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Water industry experience including the understanding of poly dosing skids, pumping stations, filtration equipment, new MCC’s, etc.
