Position: Business Development Manager – Sustainability
Location: Staffordshire with flexible/remote working
Salary Guide: c.£40-45k (negotiable dependent upon experience) plus car allowance
Our Client: Is an independent company which delivers effective fully engineered odour and air pollution control solutions for clients operating in the water, waste and recycling sectors as well as food and beverage and process industries.

Key Areas: Standardised and Containerised Process Plant.
Our Client offers standardised and containerised process plant for lease or hire, fully serviced and maintained for the duration the equipment is on site providing a totally service approach for their customers.

They use data logging units and also cloud based information sharing systems. This can be a dedicated access portal for any client that is interested where they can access and download the latest service reports and real-time H2S or NH3 readings.

The Role: Effectively manage, lead and create the conditions for the business to deliver major business development and sales growth.
Development of the strategic plan for business activity to support the delivering of profitable growth, by proactively targeting new market sectors, win new business and retain existing business and create appropriate plans, bid output & customer solutions.
Develop and update on a regular basis the company’s Business Plan & Sales Strategy.
Develop and increase customer awareness of our client’s capabilities.
Production of tender documents and supporting information in conjunction with the Technical Director and proposals team.
Liaise with all clients.
Carry out, facilitate and assist with technical presentations.
Responsibilities: Develop the applications of our client’s technologies.
Produce and control all necessary administration associated with the position. Produce monthly reports and regular client meeting reports.
Maximise sales and profit for the Company.
Play a fundamental role in developing future growth and provide vision and sales direction.
Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets.
Increase market share in existing markets and maximise new business development opportunities.
Identify routes to market.
Attend networking events.
Review and monitor competition in the market-place.
Identify new markets and products.
Look for funding to assist R&D works.
Experience: Genuine interest and knowledge of sustainability in relation to assisting end clients achieve carbon neutrality and net zero targets.
Promote their environmental credentials coupled with the drive to utilise technology to achieve sustainable solutions
Business development experience
Technical/engineering qualification or knowledge would be beneficial
Experience of tenders and proposals.
Enthusiastic and motivated
Computer literate including Excel
Flexibility to travel to customer meetings and sites as required.
