Position: Maintenance Manager
Location: Ellesmere Port
Salary: £60-65k (DOE), 20% performance bonus, car/allowance and excellent benefits package including healthcare, pension and share scheme
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
The Site: A dedicated High Temperature Incinerator (HTI), which has been securely treating hazardous waste streams covering laboratory waste and contaminated electrical equipment to a wide range of liquids and solids for over 30 years.
One of the most technically advanced in Europe, and the largest of its type in the UK, the HTI facility performs a key role in the industrial infrastructure and currently treats 100,000 tonnes each year.

The Role: This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career within the engineering sector and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
Duties: Demonstrating role model safety leadership through effective communication and being visible on the plant.
Participating in the Site Safety Committee to review performance and drive improvement, leading safety inspections and auditing key safe systems of work.
Organising and managing the site maintenance function to ensure regulatory compliance and achieve high plant availability and performance.
Managing and developing the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with a keen focus on asset lifecycle and planned preventative maintenance.
Overseeing the planned maintenance shutdowns to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Managing and coordinating all routine maintenance activities to ensure planned work, breakdowns, and equipment overhauls are delivered.
Working closely with engineering project teams to plan and deliver plant modifications and capital investments.
Overseeing individual and team development with the maintenance department to ensure competence and employee motivation is of the highest order.
Managing and controlling maintenance contractors, including having involvement in the selection and approval of suppliers and reviewing performance.
Developing and implementing Company maintenance policies by being an ambassador for sharing best practices across all Company sites.
Experience: Experience in a management or supervisory role.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
HNC/HND in engineering will be considered, however, an engineering degree is desirable.
Strong communication skills at all levels.
Excellent team player with the ability to build an effective team as well as participate in an environment that values teamwork.
Practical knowledge of relevant legislation including COMAH, Pressure System Safety Regulations, and Statutory Inspection Regulations.
Experience in modern maintenance systems and best practices within a similar environment including CMMS development, planning tools, and processes, predictive and preventative maintenance techniques, asset lifecycle modelling aligned to budgetary control and KPI reporting.
Technical expertise in the engineering or petrochemical arena.
