Position: Lead Planner
Location: Oxfordshire/Midlands – remote/flexible working
Salary: £60-70k neg (DOE), and excellent benefits package
Our Client: Is an exciting new business which will create biomethane for injection into the gas grid through three different routes:
Greenfield development of their own AD plants based on agri-waste
Collaboration with Water Treatment companies to upgrade their biogas to biomethane
Off-taking biogas from existing AD facilities
The Role: They are recruiting for a Lead Planner who will play an important part in creating, maintaining and administering multiple integrated design and construct programmes for multiple challenging anaerobic digestor construction projects each valued at £25m with a total spend of £400m.
You will ensure that the business and projects remain on track.
The company has excellent prospects ahead and plans to grow substantially in the coming years and this role will grow with it, ultimately with responsibility for the planning department.
Responsibilities: Work closely with and guide project teams and suppliers to ensure all activities, logic, risks, internal and external constraints are identified when creating programmes.
Provide accurate and consistent progress information, both at high-level and in full detail
Analyse programmes to proactively identify time risks and opportunities.
Work with the Head of Engineering and Delivery to formulate a detailed and timed Programme Delivery Plan.
Assimilate the project brief, associated documents and specifications and request any additional information to improve programme accuracy.
Work with design and construct teams to develop production methodologies, work sequences and pre-contract and contract programmes.
Arrange and facilitate collaborative planning sessions with appropriate stakeholders throughout project development stages.
Arrange and facilitate programme validation workshops to ensure programme accuracy, logic, clear critical path identification, adequate and appropriately placed time risk allowances, etc.
Manage collaborative planning meetings with the site representatives, Technical Manager and Project Engineers
Update project progress working directly with project teams and suppliers. This will involve virtual and actual site and pre-assembly works visits to verify progress.
Identify and assess programme risks and work with project teams to produce mitigation plans. Identify alternative methodologies/sequences that reduce delivery risks.
Monitor and capture actual output and productivity performance data and use this to continually improve project performance and programme accuracy.
Experience: Previous planning and project delivery experience
You must be proficient using planning software including resource management functions
Experience using Microsoft Project
Experience of leading collaborative planning meetings
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
Knowledge of the Health and Safety Requirements within the industry to assist in the preparation of Construction Programmes
Excellent communication and engagement skills
Professional qualification in a construction/engineering related subject
