The Role: Reporting to the Project Manager supporting the Project Delivery Team, you will be involved in the site management of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil installation The project is a new water treatment process (1st of its kind in the UK). It entails Civils works for below ground pipework and a new building to house the equipment, MEICA works for the plant and associated controls associated.

Responsibilities: Preparation of all relevant documentation prior to the commencement of the installation phase of the project, including but not limited to:

Site Management Plans

Risk Assessments and Method Statements for activities being undertaken by directly employed resources

Reviewing and approval of subcontractors site documentation including but not limited to:

Risk Assessments and Method Statements

Installation programmes

Test and Inspection documentation

Management and control of all site activities ensuring that all work is undertaken in a safe and timely manner in accordance with all Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, all relevant contractual timescales and all relevant contract specifications.

Liaison with the client’s engineering and operational staff to ensure all KPI’s are met or exceeded.

Work alongside the Contract Engineer and Planner to regularly review the progress of the works ensuring that adherence to the contract programme dates is maintained. This will include the preparation and maintenance of fortnightly look ahead programmes.

Ensure all required site documentation is completed, including but not limited to:

Daily diary sheets

Daily allocation sheets

Records of delays and changes, including the financial implications

All relevant Safety, Health and Environmental documentation

Records in respect of Subcontractor progress and performance

Undertake Site Inductions and regular Tool Box Talks for all resources visiting and working on the site.

Ensure that site costs are monitored and controlled.

Preparation of progress reports as required.

Attendance at site visits / meetings.

Coordination and liaison with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installation and construction teams.

Preparation of material & plant requisitions

Experience: An industry applicable qualification

Demonstrable experience of working within the water and/or sewage industries

Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card and First Aid training)

Working knowledge of Microsoft packages

Self-motivation

A high level of diplomacy and customer focused

Strong team player but also able to work as an individual

The Role: Working within a Framework JV made up of seven partner companies and their extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

The framework is heading into its latest Asset Management Period, known as AMP 7 which will the delivery of a £1.4bn programme of work over the next five years.

Manage a team and oversee the development of solutions to ensure multiple projects are completed on time, to quality standards and safely whilst in line with legislation, Alliance governance and processes. Work closely with Commercial and Planning teams to ensure cost and resource forecasts are maintained to required levels of accuracy whilst issues are mitigated and/ or escalated to the Integrated Projects Leader for successful resolution

Oversee the teams’ promoted solutions ensuring they are safe, commercially viable and resolve the project requirements whilst being fit for purpose

Experience: Engineering qualification

Our client is a Principal Contractor operating within the water industry and they are a primary delivery partner to Thames Water on their AMP7 framework. They currently have a requirement for an Construction Manager who will have overall responsibility for the production management team and successful delivery of projects delivered under the framework.

They have committed to working collaboratively with Thames Water, their strategic suppliers and other stakeholders to embed MMC (Modern Methods of Construction), particularly off-site manufacturing and this role will focus on production line and manufacturing thinking so you will work with the wider team to drive efficiencies and opportunities to outperform across the programme.

Key Tasks:

  • Manage a large and multidisciplined team to deliver projects from concept stage to completion across the portfolio of works and Specific responsibilities will include management of; health and safety, design, customer relations, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value during both pre-production (ECI phase) and production.

Our client is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Design & Technical Delivery Manager for their Southern Water AMP7 framework where you will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions at a project/tranche level from initial definition of need through optioneering, solution development, detail design and construction support.

You will report directly to the Head of Engineering and the responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of discipline design engineers in the development of wastewater technical solutions from initial need statement through optioneering, solution development, value engineering, detail design and construction support.
  • Ensure affordable design solutions are developed within project budget and solution risk is appropriately managed and communicated throughout the solution development process.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with the client, design teams, construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
  • Ensure sustainable design solutions completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.

Our Client is a leading design and build contractor operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across regional centres, primarily supporting multiple long-term water sector frameworks through a number of joint ventures and alliances.

They are looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Mechanical Project Engineer to assist the Project / Construction Manager in co-ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy; ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme; provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.

You will report directly to the Project Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
  • Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
  • Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
