Position: Telemetry/ICA Engineer
Location: Brighton covering East Sussex and Kent
Salary Guide: £40,000 – £45,000 plus vehicle and Package
Our Client is a leading design and build contractor operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across regional centres, primarily supporting multiple long-term water sector frameworks. Working in a JV you will help deliver a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex).
Duties:
You will report directly to the Telemetry & ICA Manager and responsibilities will include:
Carry out telemetry commissioning on allocated schemes including End to End testing, fault finding and issuing of certification
Reporting of Telemetry and ICA activities and progress to the Telemetry & ICA Manager.
Providing Telemetry and ICA Technical support to the Project Commissioning Engineer
Carry out reviews of Telemetry Schedules in conjunction with Project Delivery Teams.
Review telemetry Inspection and Test Plans in conjunction with the Commissioning Engineer to ensure the site is ready to commence End to End Testing
Assist in development of Commissioning Programme defining telemetry and ICA activities.
Attend MCC FAT where applicable.
Ensure MEICA sub-contractors understand scope of works to install and connect telemetry enclosures correctly.
Review of subcontractors’ drawings where part of the telemetry system is being installed.
Assist Commissioning Engineer with the set up and scaling of instrumentation where part of the telemetry system
Manage change control around additional signals, changes to existing alarms and setting of alarm levels identified during testing/installation
Carry out full End to End Testing of telemetry system
Issue End to End Testing certificate on completion of testing
Carry out MCert verification and certification
Ensure all Telemetry requirements are Client MED, MCERT compliant on completion of testing.
Complete and issue the as-built Telemetry Schedule for inclusion in Asset Integration manual and to the Client.
Manage the process of handover and return of software to and from the Client on projects
Assist O&M Coordinators in review of O&M Manuals.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Recognised Electrical/ICA qualification preferable
Experience with Servelec S1000, S500 & S2000, RTU telemetry outstations
Able to configure field instruments such as pH, Turbidity, Flow, Level, pressure etc.
Understanding ma, Digital failsafe signals
Able to read/understand PLC (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley & Siemens) software, also Beijer HMI software
Understanding of Ethernet networks and fibre optics
Holds relevant CSCS/ECS card
